Society Doesn't Care About Female Drug Addicts...just their babies

Big News: Nicole Richie's Baby is in Danger!

Well according to Star Magazine anyways. Her days of "hard living" could cause her 12 week old fetus to be miscarried or suffer from birth defects.

What about HER life? What about her dying from her anorexia that the media claims she has (I'm not saying that she does or does not have an eating disorder, just that the media is making that claim not Nicole Richie or her family), what about her dying when she was driving on the wrong side of an LA freeway, what about her life when the media claimed she was doing "heroin and pills"? Why when she makes the "right" decision according to the conservatives in our society and continues her pregnancy despite her battles with addiction, is she being set up to become the next "bad mommy" in our media? Why does our media care more about Nicole Richie's fetus, then Nicole Richie?

Well as it turns out Nicole Richie could have made some cash from her drug and alcohol addiction before she got pregnant if she was willing to get sterilized or go on birth control! I saw this on the news last night; http://www.wgal.com/slideshow/news/13679919/detail.html
According to my local news some group is willing to pay female drug addicts $200 if they are willing to go on birth control or get sterilized, because they don't want babies to be born with horrible birth defects and crack baby syndrome.

Ugh. Once again, the lives of women who are addicted to drugs and alcohol are not important. Only the babies these women could possibly have in the future are important.

Could the pro-life message get any stronger here? YOUR life doesn't matter if you are a drug addict ONLY the life of the innocent BABY you may carry one day in the future. Get sterilized or go on birth control so you don't create a life that could be harmed. Take cash so you can get more drugs and alcohol instead and continue to feed your addiction! We don't care if you get treatment for your addiction, we don't care if you die from your addiction...we're only concerned about BABIES here!

Also shouldn't all women have the right to free birth control? Oh, wait I forgot. According to society women don't have any value unless they are willing to procreate and even if they physically can't pro-create they should at least try to and spend thousands of dollars doing so. And having one isn't enough! You need to have at least 2, but no more then 4. Unless your a drug addict then you get out of the whole being a parent thing.

I really hate society right now.

There was a recent case in which they were attempting to try a woman for murder because she was a drug addict and gave birth to a stillborn baby. It made me sick to my stomach literally. The reason society blames

The reason society blames these women for risking their babies lives is because unlike their unborn babies they have the freedom of choice, their choices lead them into this situation. But you are right, these women need support most of all, whoever knows basic things about drugs understands that it's not that easy to have control over your life when you're doing drugs, so we shouldn't judge them. I don't think any of these women would refuse to get help in a drug abuse treatment center.
