Benazir Bhutto Assassinated

Just a short entry to note the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, former prime minister of Pakistan.

The first woman to be voted leader of a Muslim country, and one of the few female heads of state in general.

There's a lot to be said about Bhutto, her politics, and her leadership but for me the key fact is another strong, outspoken woman is gone.

The article she wrote for the Huffington Post about her return to Pakistan is worth a read.

Gawd, I know. I am not sure

Gawd, I know. I am not sure if I am more frustrated, more angry or more just plain sad.
Thanks for blogging this, Jill.

Hearing This On CNN...

I was just shocked that immediately after the death the Pakistani Government felt they could get away with having solved the whole crime, with details that were so exact and tell all, just the day after of her death. I was watching with my boyfriend and we both agreed it made us sick to our stomachs that they could disrespect a life, any life, in such a way. I hope her husband changes his mind and lets another autopsy be performed. Pull in inter nation, independent forensic experts to solve this crime once and for all.
