(I don't think we have a thread like this, so we definitely should.)

I watched Fried Green Tomatoes last night and I have this overwhelming urge now to go out and buy it and watch it again and again and again. It's absolutely going on my list of Best Movies Ever, and I may have fallen in love with Ruth.

So I thought that we should have a thread to recommend women-centered movies with feminist themes. Such as this one.

I can think of two others off the top of my head (Boys on the Side and The Colour Purple) and that's pretty much it. So ... tell me what's your favourite feminist-y movie (I keep wanting to say 'chickflick'. We should steal the word and re-appropriate it for our cause).

(Also, if someone could PM me and tell me who the eff Ninny is, that'd be great. Right until the very end, I kept waiting for her to explain how she fit into the story, but if she mentioned it, it flew right past me.)
