Oh yes, Antonia's Line! I'm still so sad that my friends in Holland seem never to have heard of it, since it is Dutch and all.

And, this one is a little strange for this list, but War of the Roses. I love that Kathleen Turner's character still doesn't love him anymore at the end and they didn't turn it into a typical "that's so sad" Hollywood movie, but left it as the tragedy it was.

Widow's Peak - one of the best mystery movies of the past 20 years. How can you not love Natasha Richardson and Mia Farrow together? Plus most anything that Lynn or Vanessa Redgrave do (usually bringing Natasha along with them). Vanessa Redgrave broke my heart in If These Walls Could Talk 2 - if her performance doesn't make you have some passion around gay rights/gay marriage, I don't know what would.
