I think she felt the surfer girl part is feminist, but I would beg to differ because if it was feminist she wouldn't "need" the guy to conquer the battle. Yes, sometimes you get someone you love after a difficult situation, but to really get over it they shouldn't always be necessary. I guess it is iffy simply because sometimes we do find someone who really helps us, and we end up keeping them with us.
