Hey all,

Thought I would try to get some discussion going in here, as it has been a bit quiet lately. So, I was having a discussion with some friends from my school the other day about what we all want/need/like from our communities. For me, I do not consider my geographical area to be my community, my town is not at all what I would call a community, for me it is this place, and the feminist community in general. Being such a misfit in my local community it is so nice and important to me that I have a real sense of belonging here, and that we all respect one another. So, was wondering if there is anything you guys really want/need/like/appreciate (you get it lol) from the AGA? It is, after all, a community for all of us, where we should all feel happy and comfortable so let us know!

Em

Hmm, I didn't see this post before X( So here's my one-month-overdue response... I like that I can feel safely disagreed with here. Experiencing disagreement is sometimes the most constructive way to learn, although it's harsh... but I know that if it happens here, yes, harshness n' all, but ultimately, everyone is invested in growth and constructive behavior.

That said, we need more peeps. It's so dead here. =X

I can relate to that. I'm Asexual, which sets me drastically apart, I'm not a racist or homophobic, which for some reason leaves me outnumbered when I think it's the more intelligent route, and being a feminist is like a threat to the uneducated, who seem to have all sorts of creative stupid responses to that.
