Site Policies

The All Girl Army is a women-run, women-centered collective, and several portions/aspects of the All Girl Army site are for participation from women and women-identified people only:

    - the bloggers and their blog posts
    - the steering committee and site volunteers
    - some areas on the AGA forums

Sparing the bloggers and volunteers, who we collectively choose, the women-only areas of the site operate under an honor system. There will be no panty-checks here: as women, we've been degraded enough on the basis of our gender and sex: we have no interest in degrading anyone else on the basis of theirs. Rather, we simply ask that anyone who wants to participate in the site and the project, and truly support its aims, respect the boundaries we draw based on their best judgment. That should be pretty easy to do for those with a genuine interest in what we're trying to do here: after all, respecting women's boundaries is a critical aspect of working for women's empowerment: if you've no dedicated interest to the former, you can't very well have any dedication to the latter.

In women-only spaces, we ask that only those who are women and women-identified participate. Men and transgendered men may participate in the all genders area of the forums, and all other portions of the site not noted as women-only.

Those of all sexes and genders may comment to blog posts, unless a given blogger has, in a given post, asked for limited comment participation on any criteria. Anyone may read/view all of the content of the site: it is viewable to all.

In the case of conflicts, or when we suspect a user is intentionally misrepresenting their gender, we may initiate communication with the user to investigate the matter and resolve the conflict, but we also reserve the right, as noted in both our privacy policy and our forum registration, to suspend or delete a user at any time for any reason, with or without notification to that user.

In addition, we require that all users -- bloggers, volunteers and other users -- of the site do pay mind to what language they use here, and use language, content and tone which is friendly to those of all genders, which is nonviolent, and as supportive as possible per empowerment, respect and equity and plain old good manners.

We want the AGA to be a safe space to discuss issues which are both often very loaded as well as very personal, and a big part of a safe, supportive environment is the way we all communicate with one another. Any outright harassment or abuse, or dismissal of our policies, per our judgment, will not be tolerated here. All administrators and bloggers on the site have the capacity to edit or remove any comments, via their own judgment per what is best for the community and what they are comfortable with, and are encouraged to do so as they/we see fit.

We thank you for respecting our policies, space, mission, and most of all, our boundaries.
